Exeter executive named to 2022 “Women in Auto Finance” list

IRVING, Texas – (Aug. 10, 2022) -- Exeter Finance LLC, a leading indirect auto finance company, has announced that Meredith Garland-Hannifin, Executive Vice President & Chief Compliance Officer, has been named to Auto Fin Journal’s “2022 Women in Auto Finance” list. The list annually recognizes what the publication calls the “brilliant women who flourish in this part of the automotive industry,” and Garland-Hannifin is the fourth Exeter leader to receive the honor in the last four years.

Garland-Hannifin is a highly accomplished financial services industry executive with a keen ability to create balance between compliance and entrepreneurship. As Chief Compliance Officer at Exeter, she works to support ingenuity across the company while providing effective risk management counsel and establishing effective policies and procedures. Since joining Exeter in 2018, she has played a vital role in helping the company maximize its financial returns while maintaining a best-in-class compliance program and implementing strong regulatory controls.

Before joining Exeter, Garland-Hannifin served as Chief Executive Officer of J. Gallagher Consulting where she built compliance programs for two clients. Prior to that, she was Senior Vice President of Mortgage Compliance at Citi and Assistant Vice President of Government Initiatives at Caliber Home Loans. She also held loss mitigation, complaint handling, underwriting and client relations positions at Morgan Stanley and Bear Stearns. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics and Finance from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Okla.

Prior to Garland-Hannifin being named to this year’s Women in Auto Finance list, Chief Information Officer Michele Rodgers, Chief Human Resources Officer Michelle Whatley and Senior Vice President Tamika Barrera were so recognized in 2019, 2020 and 2021, respectively. Garland-Hannifin is one of 12 women who were named to the 2022 list -- out of more than 100 nominees -- and were featured in Auto Fin Journal’s August issue. She will now join the other honorees as they share industry knowledge and best practices in a panel discussion during the Used Car Week conference in San Diego from Nov. 14-17, 2022.
